Bob Storbeck, Martin Bros. District Sales Representative, Named AFDR DSR of the Month

Bob Storbeck, a District Sales Representative (DSR) for Martin Bros. Distributing Co., Inc., was named the Association for Foodservice Distributor Representatives (AFDR) DSR of the Month for March 2023.

The AFDR DSR of the Month is awarded to those recognized by customers for providing outstanding service, known by co-workers as team players and selected by the AFDR Nominating Committee after a review of nominations as well as interviews. The AFDR is the only national professional association for food service DSRs, marketing associates and territory managers.

Storbeck’s territory is in Mason City and Northern Iowa. He started his journey with Martin Bros. when he was introduced to John Martin and learned about the planned cash and carry store, now called the Martin Bros. Food Market. He was allowed to do his University of Northern Iowa Capstone Marketing course on launching a cash and carry concept, and a lot of the information from his paper was used to implement the store. He completed an internship at the store and then was hired as assistant manager for a year or so. He then became the candy buyer, then the coffee specialist and then after about a year and a half, he began his DSR career. He recently celebrated his 36th year as a Martin Bros. DSR.

"I am constantly learning. There is a loyalty to those brokers or reps who took the time to help me learn as a greenhorn and still now. That loyalty does not go away. It is a friendship and mutual respect," Storbeck told AFDR.
